Email Subscribers & Notifications
Last updated: April 2026
How subscriptions work
Users can subscribe from the hosted page or widget. They enter email, receive a confirmation link (double opt-in), and are added once confirmed.
Double opt-in
Required for all subscriptions. Only confirmed subscribers receive notifications — keeps your list clean and compliant.
Release notification emails
When you publish a release, Herald sends email to confirmed subscribers with title, content, and link to full changelog. Sent from Herald domain by default; custom sender on Team+.
One-click unsubscribe
Every notification includes a token-based unsubscribe link. Clicking removes the subscriber immediately.
Magic link login
Subscribers use magic links instead of passwords to access gated changelog content.
Subscriber digest (🔄 Planned)
Weekly/monthly digest scheduling coming soon. Releases in the window are bundled into one email. [Fizzy #663]
Custom sender domain (Team+)
On Team+ plans, send release emails from your own domain (e.g. updates@yourproduct.com) after DKIM + SPF verification. Your brand on the envelope, not Herald's.
